Skills Training
We offer 2 skills training programs that combine paid hands-on and classroom training. Participants utilize Goodwill facilities to focus on industry-specific skills and competencies. Industry-recognized certifications are available through each training program. Programming is 30 shifts and runs 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday – Friday, based on individual schedules.
Support Leads to Success
A person’s journey doesn’t end when they get a job. We are committed to supporting individuals to ensure their long-term success. At this stage, an individual may be enrolled in Supported Employment, which provides assistance to adults with a diagnosed disability and/ or mental illness to help them obtain and maintain employment in the community.
Day Services
In addition to job training, we also have structured daily programming for adults with a diagnosed physical and/or intellectual disability. Day Services participants have the opportunity to develop and maximize independence in areas of self-care, socialization, communication, education, and life skills. This interactive classroom in Johnston and the south side of Des Moines provides a place for participants to meet and interact with peers and integrate into the community.
